Rottnest Island & Sunburn Cures

We got back from Rottnest island yesterday, and I'm pretty burnt! We had a wonderful time though, well worth going to if you're going to be in Western Australia.
Below are some pics :-)
However, my legs were nice and cherry red so I mixed aloe vera gel (from a plant, or the 98/99% bottled version) with lanolin cream and bepanthen cream. Moisture, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory. Worked a charm! My legs are still red but a lot less sore.
Oh yeah, Happy New Year!!

Holiday Snaps

Wow, what a fantastic Christmas week! There was food-a-plenty, I got some excellent gifts and spent time with some great people.
Here are some snaps of our trip so far. I love the android camera app - camera 360. Neat eh??
I hope you have spent some time with your families or loved ones, or just taking time to enjoy the little things. That's what life is, right? A series of little moments. :-)

Nautical Bracelet DIY

I really like nautical style. It's casual, cute and looks kinda frenchy.  So I made this nautical bracelet & necklace (while watching New Girl - so funny!) this arvo.  All you'll need is:

Colored suede straps
Chain from your local supplies shop

And all you gotta do is thread the suede through the loops! Easy!

Christmas Shopping

I have a love/hate relationship with Christmas shopping; I love it because I like buying things I hope people will like. But on the other hand the crowds and uncertainty about what size/color/genre/type of present to get can get to me! Do you have that problem??

So I've been relaxing this arvo,  looking at pics to show my hair dresser tomorrow. What did ya think?

On a last note, I bought some supplies from Spotlight the other day. Jewelry DIY here I come! :-)

DIY Christmas Wrapping

I'm quite a newbie to the world of DIY, so I like looking at other blogs and getting ideas and inspiration from them. I think DIYing your own Christmas wrapping paper is an awesome idea. It really adds a personal touch to it. Seeing all the gorgeous ideas out there makes me want to re-wrap my pressies!

Check them out, I LOVE the peacock one, freakin awesome.

I'm definitely going to try this on my remaining presents, how bout you??

PS I made this - mirrored headband

I subscribe to P.S. - I made this (obviously), and she's put up a DIY mirrored headband! I think it's really pretty, and would go perfect with a LBD, LRD, or any dress! Look at her other awesome DIY's while you're at it!

Check it!

Christmas Nail Art

Well, in case you hadn't already guessed, I love Christmas. And painting my nails. So combine the two I say, and embrace the festive season in nail polish! Err... yeah.

So I found a few links that I am definitely going to try! I bought a white Sally Hansen nail pen, and it's great! It does fabulous french manicures too :)

Snowflake nail art, this is real cute. I've never had a white christmas before! :)

Wrapping paper nail art - so pretty!

More to come!

TOMS Shoes - One for One Movement

TOMS Shoes is an incredible organization who has put the shoes on many little feet, in third world countries.

From the TOMS website:

"In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. Blake returned to Argentina with a group of family, friends and staff later that year with 10,000 pairs of shoes made possible by TOMS customers."

Even though I've only bought one pair so far, I'm happy that I have contributed a very small part to this.

When you buy a pair of TOMS shoes, a child in need will get a pair too. Or if you buy sunglasses from their range of eyewear, a child will get the eye care he/she needs. What's not to love about that??

Not to mention, their designs are awesome, like these, and you would wear these if you were getting married!

IF I had a bun in the oven...

THIS is how I'd tell my parents! So cute! Link from A Cup of Jo.

Swimwear

Have you noticed how many one pieces are around lately? As much as I love my Seafolly two piece, I think I might try a onesie this summer. Here are some of my favorites.

So are you going to try the one piece this summer?
Classic? Check.
Flattering? Check.
Good enough for me! :)
